Mrs. Lynn Fleming Aeschliman
Mrs. Aeschliman is an alumna of
TASIS and has worked in many facets of the TASIS organization, managing
its theater company, publications, films, and building projects on all
of its campuses for many years. She served as Assistant Director of
TASIS and Chairman of the TASIS Development Board before moving to
Virginia, where she ran an architectural restoration firm and served as
Director of an elementary school. She has supervised major
architectural restoration projects in the USA, England (all the
original buildings of the TASIS England campus), Switzerland (the TASIS
campus), and Italy, and has run summer camps in Switzerland and France,
as well as co-directing a residential college in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Mrs. Aeschliman was appointed Executive Director of the TASIS
organization in 1996 and serves on the TASIS Foundation Board. Her two
children graduated from TASIS. She now steps into the role of Chairman
of the newly formed TASIS SA Board of Directors.
Mr. Ben Dorman Mr. Dorman is a corporate lawyer with an extensive career of international legal services and related engineering and construction management, sales and marketing activities throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He currently practices commercial law locally. Mr. Dorman earned a BA in Political Science from Stanford University, a JD degree from the UCLA School of Law, and was admitted to both the Bar of the State of California and the Supreme Court of England and Wales. He is an active member of The Law Society, the California Bar, and related professional institutions. Mr. Dorman lives locally with his wife, and his son and daughter are both TASIS England alumni.
Mr. Fernando Gonzalez
Mr.
Gonzalez attended Phillips Academy Andover, Harvard College (BA in
Visual Studies), and the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He started
working at TASIS in 1972 as Chairman of the Art Department. Before
becoming Administrative Director of the TASIS organization in 1997, Mr.
Gonzalez was TASIS Director of Institutional Development for 20 years
during a period of significant expansion for the TASIS organization. He
served on the TASIS Executive Board for eight years and as Interim
Headmaster of TASIS England from 2004-2005. In 2001, he co-founded
TASIS Dorado, which is now a premier independent school in Puerto Rico. His love for creative design and restoring
historic buildings has led him to architectural projects in France,
England, Switzerland and Puerto Rico, as well as co-directing the Les
Tapies Art & Architecture summer program in southern France. In
September 2005, Mr. Gonzalez became Chairman of the newly formed Board
of Directors of TASIS England. Mr. Gonzalez serves on the TASIS
Foundation Board and has two sons who attended TASIS England for all
their pre-college careers. He lives in Thorpe with his wife and
stepdaughter.
Mrs. Bobbie McGroryMrs. McGrory holds a BBA from the University of Portland. From 1980 to 1989, she was a Certified Public Accountant and in 1987 she was assigned to the firm's Washington National Tax Practice where she specialized in the taxation of employee benefit plans and tax-exempt organizations. She is active in the TASIS community, where she served as a Treasurer of the Parents' Council in 2005-06 and is a member of the 2007-08 Annual Giving Committee. Mrs. McGrory lives in Surrey with her husband and their three children. Their daughter graduated from TASIS in 2008 and continues her studies at a UK university. Their sons are middle and upper school students at TASIS.
Mrs. Lisa Smith (Chairman)
Mrs. Smith has enjoyed a 23-year career in the technology sector with three multinational companies. The majority of this time was spent with Hewlett Packard where she led their Strategic Procurement organization, which was responsible for outsourcing all of the Portables and Desktop business to Taiwan, Japan, and China. Her experience includes international contract negotiations, cost management, and e-business operations. Mrs. Smith has served as a full-time professor of undergraduate and graduate e-business courses at University of Phoenix, a guest lecturer at Texas A&M University, and an instructor at several industry seminars. In addition to industry professional credentials from the National Association of Purchasing Managers (C.P.M.) and Association of Production and Inventory Control (C.P.I.M.), Mrs. Smith has a B.B.A. in Accounting and a M.B.A.
Since arriving in England in June 2004, Mrs. Smith has served TASIS England in a variety of roles. She has been a member of the TASIS England Board of Directors since 2006-2007 and Chairman since September 2008. Mrs. Smith has also chaired the Board Academic Committee, Co-Chaired the Annual Development Fund, and served as Parents’ Council Coordinator. (deleted rest of paragraph)
Mrs. Smith’s husband, Kevin, is the Chief Executive Office of Summit Petroleum, Ltd., a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation. Their son and daughter are both graduates of TASIS England. Mrs. Smith and her family live in Surrey. She is an active member of a local women’s investment club, American Women of Berkshire and Surrey (AWBS) and enjoys golfing, as time permits.
Mr. Per Troein
Mr. Troein has worked in the fields of telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and information management, guiding companies through the process of change to better position them in a dynamic, global market place. He is currently Vice President of Strategic Partners for IMS Health, Inc. Having been based in Sweden, US, and UK, his work has had a global reach, and he and his family has lived internationally for many years. Mr. Troein holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Lund’s Institute of Technology and an MBA from INSEAD. He and his wife have three daughters and a son, all of whom graduated from TASIS England.
Mr. John S. Wyper
Mr. Wyper holds undergraduate and MBA degrees from the University of Virginia. He is Managing Director of Hines Europe, a global real estate practice and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating new European development, project financing, and asset dispositions. He and his wife have lived in Europe since 1996 (England since 2001) and are active members of the TASIS community. Their daughter and son are both TASIS England alumni, and living in the United States.
