Artists for Social Change Art Exhibition
Posted 27/04/2017 01:27PM

The TASIS Artists for Social Change strive to create multimedia work that challenges the School's views on social issues and evokes empathy. In March, the group invited the school community to the opening night of the Artists for Social Change Feminist Art Exhibition.

Their gallery included paintings, drawings, photography, graphic design, installation art, and dance that delves into the evolution of the feminist movement and the adversities of contemporary sexism. The successful opening night was attended by many teachers and students, and the gallery remained on display in Magna Carta Hall for the entire week.

In collaboration with Artists for Social Change, the Global Issues Network club hosted an art auction on opening night. Donated student artwork was auctioned to raise funds for the Worldwide Tribe, an NGO focused on aiding refugees. The club was inspired by the founder of the Worldwide Tribe, Jasmin O'Hara, who spoke to Upper School students in September when she attended their Charity Ball.
