PGL Outdoor Adventure Trip - September 7-9, 2017 Grades 5 to 8

PGL Outdoor Adventure Trip – September 7–9, 2017 – Grades 5 to 8

New this year, the entire Middle School is heading to one of the newest PGL sites in the UK: Liddington. PGL has a number of outdoor activity centers located throughout the UK. For the first time, we plan to take the entire Middle School away shortly after the new school year commences. Students will attend class as normal on Thursday, September 7, and after school we will load buses and head to PGL Liddington. After arriving and settling in, students will have dinner and an evening activity. They will then spend all day Friday and Saturday in activities designed to facilitate social bonding. Students will be separated into their grade levels for day activities and sleeping arrangements. We will then leave after a full day on Saturday and expect to arrive back on campus in the early evening.

Cost: TASIS is subsidizing the cost to families, but we will ask that families contribute towards the cost of the trip. The final cost for families will be determined in the near future.

Registration opens this summer

MS Spanish Trip - April 18-22, 2018 Grades 6 to 8

MS Spanish Trip - April 18-22, 2018 Grades 6 to 8

TASIS teachers work with an educational travel agency specialized in school group tours. There will be guides with students on the day trips as they explore local Spanish cuisine and sights. Students not only have fun and practice their Spanish but more importantly, they come back proud of the progress they have made over the academic year. This trip is not a sight-seeing trip but designed to immerse students in Spanish language and culture. We have traveled to Cadiz and Valencia the past two years, and we are currently evaluating the best location for next year’s trip. Vamos a España!

MS French Trip - April 18-22, 2018 Grades 6 to 8

MS French Trip - April 18-22, 2018 Grades 6 to 8

The Middle School French trip accommodates all levels of French, and students are continually challenged and encouraged to use their French language skills throughout the trip. This trip is not a sight-seeing trip but designed to immerse students in French language and culture. The previous destination was to Switzerland, and we are evaluating the best location for next year’s trip. No matter the location, you can be sure that it will involve plenty of French food, language practice, and les pain au chocolats. J'adore le français!

MS Greece Trip - March 24-30, 2018 Grades 6 to 8

MS Greece Trip - March 24-30, 2018 Grades 6 to 8

The most fascinating feature of Greece is arguably its rich history, which we will be exploring in depth on our trip. Everyone has heard the wonderful stories that have come out of this area, including the tale of the Trojan War, the Olympian gods and goddesses and Aesop’s Fables, to name a few. Some of the most famous people in history have also called Greece their motherland, including Socrates, Homer, Plato, Aristotle, Herodotus, Alexander the Great, and the infamous mathematician Pythagoras. It is a country bursting with culture, vibrancy and intellect and offers a great look into the foundations of western society, as we know it.
