Boarding Life

Our boarders learn to make good choices in their daily lives and find their own unique passions and purpose – all while forging lifelong friendships with students from around the globe.

End of Year Arrangements June 2017 - Information for the Boarding Community

Boarding Underclassmen are permitted to leave campus for the Summer Break after the completion of their last exam.

We will be handling the End of Year information for boarding students through our Boardingware Leave Application system and an email with further information/directions has been sent to parents directly.

All underclassmen are required to have left campus, unless exceptional circumstances exist of which we will need prior information and the agreement of the Head of Boarding, by 13:00 (1:00 p.m.) on Thursday, 8 June, 2017.

Please understand that we require timely and accurate information about your child(ren)’s travel in order to make the necessary arrangements. This information is essential for their safety and well-being.

Shuttles will be run to London Heathrow on a regular basis on Wednesday, 7 June and during the day on Thursday, 8 June, 2017.  Students who need a ride to Heathrow Airport will be given the option to join a school shuttle at stated times during the duty periods. Students who need transportation at any other time will have to make their own arrangements.  We recommend that students who choose to use a taxi to the airport pre-book and co-ordinate with other students, if possible, to share the ride and cost. Please ensure that your child has money on hand to pay for their taxi ride. Fares to Heathrow start from Heathrow £18 for Terminal 5 and £22 for all other terminals, however, they increase for early morning or late night collections.  A safe and reliable local company is Gemini.  Please check the Gemini Taxi website for further information on pre-booking a taxi or you may call Gemini on +44 1784 471111.

Return Travel Arrangements

Boarding Prefects are expected to return to campus on Friday, 18 August, 2017.

New boarding students should arrive at TASIS on Monday, 21 August by 18.00 (6.00 p.m.) with returning boarders arriving on Tuesday, 22 August, 2017 by 19.00 (7.00 p.m.) Please do not book flights that will have your son or daughter returning to school after these times.  Please note that returning students are responsible for making their own arrangements to get back to school at the end of their break.  Returning boarders are not permitted to arrive on Monday, 21st August; this is strictly reserved for new boarder arrivals.

Heathrow Airport to TASIS:
There are always ‘black cabs’ available outside the terminals.  A reliable and safe alternative is Gemini Cars.  Heightened security restrictions at London Heathrow airport mean that passengers being collected by taxis, such as Gemini Cars, are not now picked up outside the terminals but at pre-arranged pick up points.  Alternatively, you can arrange a ‘Meet & Greet’ where the driver will meet the passenger as they come through the Customs Hall.  There is an additional charge for this.   Please visit the Gemini Taxi website for further information on terminal pick up arrangements and fares.

Classes resume on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.
